Prospect Hill Bed & Breakfast Inn on the edge of small town Mountain City is just minutes from awesome golf, biking, fly fishing, tours for scenery, shopping, rafting, horseback riding and hiking. We are minutes from Boone NC, and Abingdon and Damascus, VA. Prospect Hill Bed &Breakfast Inn (c. 1889) is less than 4 hours drive from half of the southern states and six hours from all the major cities (except the Gulf coast and Florida--inexpensive flights make those areas rather close!) Mountain City, Tenn,is just 24 minutes north of Boone, NC, and just a bit further to Abingdon, VA at the gateway to the Cherokee National Forest. Our small town is in the far northeast corner of Tennessee which is unspoiled by hordes of tourists.
Spring comes here gently, slowly and with subtle changes in the roadside flowers and blooming trees. Summer means great weather IF you like it UNDER 90 degrees. We did not break the 90-degree barrier last year or ANY summer in the past 11. ... our altitude and tree cover help. The inn is at 2500+ ft. The cottage is at 2950 ft. Feel the difference a few hundred feet makes!
